Welcome to Fluxbuntu Feisty, the Lightweight Productive Agile Efficient Ubuntu-based distro.
The default window manager is Fluxbox. The first action you will do when logging in is access the Fluxbox menu. This is done, by right-clicking on the desktop. The first items in the menu are some common utilities you may use, such as the Terminal (uxterm) and Browser (SeaMonkey). Underneath, are categories of applications. Of some use will be VLC (under Foo,) an application to play video files. XMMS is a Winamp like application that can play music. There is Abiword for word processing, and <foo> for Email.
Synaptic-is a graphical utility to manage packages (programs) on your system. This is where you can install new programs to use! For instance, nvidia-glx and <foo> are two drivers you can install to get 3d support for your system.
The Fluxbuntu menu item is where Fluxbuntu-specific applications and utilities are stored.
Under Fluxbox--you can configure your window manager. You can choose transparencies here, where your toolbar is placed, and your Fluxbox style (theme).
Finally, the last item in the menu, <foo> is where you can lock your session, log out, restart or shutdown your computer.
